GSSL Refund Policy

Effective February 3, 2017

Fees:

The team fee for each season is specified by the GSSL staff in advance of the season. Divisions which have more than a single referee will pay a premium to cover the cost of additional referees at each game. An additiional charge is required for any team fees paid by credit or debit card to cover processing charges.

The GSSL encourages managers to pay team fees via cash or check as it reduces the League’s credit and debit card processing fees.

Payment Policy:

Payment is due in full with application. A late fee of $100 may be charged for teams paying after the application deadline date. Teams will be registered on a first come - first serve basis provided room is available in the division. Teams who apply for and then withdraw from the session more than one (1) week after the season application deadline will forfeit all fees to accommodate for work revisions assigning teams to divisions, schedule generation, and assigning both fields and referees on the basis of those divisions and schedules.

Division Assignments:

Division assignments are made by the GSSL Competition committee on the basis of:

  • Manager request on this application and
  • Performance in the previous season(s) played relative to the other teams returning the following season.


Division assignments are not subject to change once the season schedules are completed unless two comparable teams in different divisions are willing to swap with one another before the second scheduled game of the session.

Rescheduled Games:

In the event a game is cancelled by the league for any reason, the league will absorb the cost of making an additional field reservation so the game can be played. Teams will make every effort to accept less than optimal field locations in the event of a rescheduled game provided by the league.



In the event a game is cancelled by either team with fewer than 14 days advance notice, the league will reschedule the game, if requested, as long as one or both teams agree to reimburse the league for the actual field cost involved in the rescheduled game. No cost will be charged to the teams for the staff time to reschedule a game, however such work would be subject to staff availability.

Refund Policy:

The GSSL will provide the option of a refund of: $75 per game or a reschedule opportunity on a comparable field and time for any game in which a team has provided sufficient notice to get a field fee refund from the field scheduling organization or the league has cancelled the game for other reasons (i.e. weather).



Facilities require field-use fees to be paid in advance, and do not credit for a cancellation unless given 14 days advance notice. Therefore, any changes or reschedules by teams require that the team notify the league 14 days in advance. No more than two games will be refunded per season.

Referee No-Show:

If the game referee does not appear at the field by game time, the League asks that the two teams share responsibility and each provide one of their players to act as referee for 45 minutes. A refund of $32.50 will be paid to any team that provides a substitute ref for each 45 minutes of play.

Team Forfeits:

Teams that fail to show up with at least seven players or are unable or unwilling to play a scheduled match shall forfeit the match and may be fined up to $150 which must be paid within two weeks. The amount received for the forfeit fine will be credited to the opponent once received as a game fee refund.



In such an instance of one short team and an official game is not recorded, the League encourages both teams to then split the group of players into two even groups for a friendly game.
