GSSL Affiliation with US Club Soccer

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are we no longer affiliated with Cascadia?
The Greater Seattle Soccer League decided to pursue direct affiliation with US Club Soccer. We are implementing a new registration process, and direct affiliation with US Club will allow for a simplified player registration workflow including online registration.
Why is the price of my player card changing?
The GSSL can offer a lower registration price ($25.00) because we no longer include secondary accident insurance coverage with the annual membership fee. We found that there have been very few players that have actually benefited from the insurance coverage. Rather than impose additional fees for coverage that rarely provides useful insurance benefit beyond a players’ primary health insurance coverage and deductibles, we believe our members would prefer lower player card registration fees.
My Cascadia/GSSL player card doesn’t expire for another 6 months. Can I still use it to play in GSSL games?
Your Cascadia/GSSL player card will be honored until the expiration date printed on the player card. The GSSL liability only player card will have a different appearance, but the GSSL referees will be instructed to allow both card formats – your card is good as long as the GSSL logo is printed on the player card and the card has not expired.
I just renewed my Cascadia/GSSL card. Is the medical accident insurance still valid until the card expires?
US Club officials have confirmed that your secondary accident insurance will continue until the day your Cascadia/GSSL card expires.
Will my new GSSL player card be accepted at any tournaments?
The GSSL player card should be accepted at all unrestricted tournaments.
The cards issued by GSSL are also registered with US Club Soccer so if US Club is sanctioning the tournament, the GSSL player cards should be accepted for tournament participation. Ultimately, it is up to the tournament director to decide which player cards will or will not be accepted.
