GSSL Board of Directors

Anita B. Parker, President
AnitaParker
Things you may not know about me...
I was an Electroencephalography Technologist at Children's Hospital for ten years.
When I was 16 years old, I once ran the 100 meters in 12.2 seconds at a track meet in England.  My record held for 20 years.
I played soccer for 15 years.  I am left footed and played left wing.  I have been a Manchester United supporter since I was 15 years old.  I have served as your Greater Seattle Soccer League President for over 24 years and I still love it!

Doug Remmem, Vice President
DougRemmem

I grew up in Seattle playing about every sport except Soccer.  I was coaching the kids in baseball when I was asked to coach a soccer team of 5-6 year old boys. I knew nothing about soccer at that time. Very few people in Seattle did.  We got Cliff McGrath to teach some of us local coaches how to coach and play the game of soccer.  We entered the team as The Thorns in the over 30 division.  I renamed the team the Magnolia Bluffers and was the manager for many years.  I somehow got on the Board over 26 years ago, not sure just when and how that happened.  My Team and The league is like family. So much to say, so little space.  Love the game.

Eckhard Schipull, Treasurer

EckhardMy main objectives as a GSSL Board member are the financial integrity and soundness of the GSSL, efficient operating procedures and the best possible service for the soccer teams and players. Supporting the President and the staff in effectively managing and scheduling about 176 teams and 3,100 soccer matches each year is another important duty of each Board member.

Chris T. Zervas, Judicial Chairman

ChrisZervasChris has been involved in soccer for most of his life, including Western Washington University, University of Washington, and various teams in the local area since the 70's. Currently player/co-manager of the FTI O-40 team and member of GSSL board since the mid 90's. My current position within the board is Judiciary chair.

Gabriel Hanzeli

I have a passion for the world’s game of futbol.  I have played almost 50 years in the Seattle area  and coached almost 40 years.  I manage KSA which is one of the longest standing teams in GSSL.  On the professional side I am a retired business leader and I continue to volunteer in community activities.  My goal on the board is to build on sportsmanship and the sharing of cultures from all around the world.
